How to Modify Engine Specifications

Welcome to the motorift.com Engine Sim How To Guide, check out the getting started guide if you haven’t already, this tutorial picks up where it left off. This tutorial will show you how to modify or add engine specifications for the engine simulation to use.

You can change some parts from the main screen by scrolling > to the engine setup tab. For example select “Change Piston” or “Change Crankshaft” to modify the size of the engine used.

Alternatively you can open the menu from the grid menu button on the bottom right corner of the screen.

Now select a part like “Cylinder Head” to open the cylinder head list.

Select the cylinder head to modify it’s specifications.

The example car (1989 Ford Mustang 185) includes specifications similar to the popular AFR 185 Cylinder heads and a 347 oversize engine kit.

Select a specification to change it. Settings like Intake port height and width are used to calculate the port saturation point. Head flow data is used throughout the app select the "Head Flow" button at the top of the screen to modify it.

Other screens such as camshaft and crankshaft are similar, changing settings here changes them for the rest of the app.
